Nice post! An important point about vegetarian diets is that many people think this means giving up all your favorite comfort foods like cheeseburgers, bacon, hot dogs, Buffalo wings, etc. when it is so untrue!
Today’s food manufacturers have found a way to make delicious meatless substitutes for all these food faves and more, so one no longer has to feel that they will be deprived if they go vegetarian.
I also feel that if someone can’t go completely vegetarian, it’s fine to be a flexitarian (one who goes meatless most of the time). In fact, given the eating habits of most people, almost ANY steps someone takes to eat at least some healthy meatless meals (watching nutrition like you suggested in this post) each week is a step in the right direction.

i have noticed that when i try to loose weight, i naturally gravitate to eating a lot less meat. not sure why but it works and i feel satisfied.
